Christine Newman has more than 15 years' experience as a lawyer working in major law firms and in government and commercial in-house roles.
Christine has worked in corporate and finance law in top tier legal firms in Sydney and New York. Christine subsequently specialised in entertainment and media law, particularly in the film and television industry where she worked with the Film Finance Corporation (now Screen Australia) and as Head of Business Affairs at leading film and television production company, Essential Media and Entertainment.
She has extensive experience throughout the entertainment industry in Australia and internationally. As the Head of Business Affairs for 7 years at Essential Media, Christine was the lead lawyer for the development, financing, production and distribution of television programs and films, including with several local and international co-production partners and for the international group's general legal affairs.
In 2014 Christine joined the international entertainment group Global Creatures as Legal Affairs Manager, before joining Blueprint Law with Nick Hart. Christine's work at Global Creatures has included drafting and negotiating complex creative, music, supplier and venue contracts.
From 2008-2012 Christine was also director/secretary of the Australian International Documentary Conference, managing the highly regarded annual documentary conference.
Christine is admitted to practice in New South Wales, Australia and is qualified for admission to the New York bar.
